About Corduroy

Corduroy is a textile with a distinctive ridged pattern (cords or wales) formed by a cut pile. It is usually made from cotton, though polyester and blended versions exist. The number of wales per inch determines the fineness: wide-wale corduroy (fewer wales) is heavier and warmer; fine-wale (more wales) is softer and more formal. Corduroy is used in trousers, jackets, and children's clothing.
