Felt

nonwoven

Also known as: Filz, Feutre, Войлок

Nonwoven fabric made by matting fibres. Stiff, insulating and does not fray.

About Felt

Felt is a non-woven textile produced by matting, condensing, and pressing fibres together. Wool felt is made by exploiting the natural tendency of wool fibres to mat and tangle when subjected to heat, moisture, and pressure. Synthetic felt is made from acrylic or polyester fibres. Felt does not fray when cut and is used in crafts, hats, industrial applications, and musical instruments.
