About Polyester
Polyester is a synthetic polymer fibre, most commonly polyethylene terephthalate (PET). It is the world's most produced textile fibre, accounting for about 52% of global fibre production. Polyester is valued for its durability, wrinkle resistance, quick-drying properties, and low cost. It is widely used in sportswear, outdoor clothing, home textiles, and blended with natural fibres. Polyester is derived from petroleum and is not biodegradable, though recycled polyester (rPET) made from plastic bottles is increasingly available and has a significantly lower environmental impact.

Use a microplastic-catching laundry bag to reduce microplastic pollution. Avoid high heat which can melt fibres.
